(she/her/hers)
Meaghan received her Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Simmons University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She worked in the social work field assisting in equine-assisted psychotherapy sessions for five years prior to graduating with her MSW. As a graduate student she trained at Spring Harbor Hospital on an adult inpatient unit, and here at IITR. She has worked with an array of diagnoses across populations, with a focus on working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and people who have experienced trauma.
Meaghan blends mindfulness, somatic awareness, narrative, and cognitive-based approaches with psychoeducation, and she believes that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for the rest of the work done in therapy. She views her role as a therapist is to support the client and guide them towards their own inner strengths and resiliencies while helping them to build the skills necessary to reprocess past traumas and move towards healing using reprocessing modalities such as EMDR and DBR. Non-judgement and respect are at the core of her work; she strongly believes that the client is the expert on their own experiences.
Meaghan is not accepting new clients at this time.
