Hannah DeAngelis, LMSW-CC

 (she/her/hers)

Hannah endeavors to be alongside folks wherever they are at, and she sees therapy as one tool in a much wider scope of caring for each other within systems of oppression. She brings to her practice a deep understanding of how our identities impact our experience of the world. Hannah hopes to support individuals to feel seen and heard, and to be a witness to the stories of their past and present. She believes in healing through relationship.

Hannah utilizes a range of modalities based on the needs of each person. Hannah is training in EMDR, and incorporates other approaches including somatic experiencing, movement and art.

Hannah received her bachelor’s degree from Colby College and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern Maine. She currently holds a conditional clinical license in social work (LMSW-CC). Prior to her time at Island institute, Hannah worked in many different community based settings in the fields of refugee resettlement, case management, and education. As a clinical intern during graduate school, Hannah trained at the Center for Grieving Children, and at the Island Institute for Trauma Recovery. Her work is also informed by past experience as a facilitator and organizer in LGBTQ and immigrant communities, and her research in end-of-life care.

Hannah currently works with adults and is accepting self-pay and MaineCare. If you would like to schedule time together, learn more about IITR, or ask any questions that might come up as you find the right fit, you can email hannahdmsw@gmail.com call or text ‪(978) 309-9799‬
