Galen is guided by the belief that healing and change can happen through trusting relationships. He joins clients where they are with curiosity, honoring their lived experiences, and turning toward their strengths and empowerment. In response to a client’s spoken needs and how they show up in the therapeutic relationship, he brings together bottom-up and top-down approaches to therapy. He offers an integrated approach in acknowledgement of a client’s felt-experience, their story, and the meaning they make. Taken together, he supports clients to feel more capacity in their next step.
Galen received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Stanford University and Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern Maine. During graduate school, Galen interned with Portland Public Schools and Gateway Community Services Maine, and he held a fellowship between Wabanaki REACH and the Cutler Institute. His work is also informed by past experience with community-based programs as a counselor and facilitator.
Galen is accepting new clients for one-on-one sessions. Both in-person and telehealth options are available. He is able to accept MaineCare or self-pay at this time -- sliding-scale options are available for self-pay.
